Hawth Gymnastics Club Competition
All Day Event
Sunday 13th July 2025
We would like to invite all our recreational, TeamGym Mini Development & MAG Development gymnasts to take part in our annual club competition.
The competition takes place in the gym (we rearrange to make room for spectators) and is a great opportunity for our gymnasts to show off their skills in front of an audience and compete against their peers.
Our recreational gymnasts will not be doing any RISE awards this term – as we will be focusing on the competition.
The event IS a competitive experience – the best performing children in each category will win medals – but every child will get a certificate and the primary aim of the day is to make it a fun and positive experience for everyone involved.
ALL gymnasts are encouraged, but not required, to take part – even those who have just joined us – there is no such thing as “not good enough” or “not ready yet” – it is a very inclusive event that only takes place once per year.
Every year our competition has a theme – this year our theme is Rainbow Colours
Who Will My Child Compete Against?
Children will compete against those of the same gender who are born in the same calendar year as them (this means they may compete against children from different school years).
If the age groups are very large we split them in to 6 month categories; if they are very small we may combine groups together.
Our TeamGym & MAG Development gymnasts will compete in separate categories to the recreational gymnasts
Team Competition
As well as competing individually, all gymnasts will be assigned one of 6 coloured teams (in line with the competition’s theming), the total scores of these teams will be used to award team prizes. Once you know your child’s team dressing up appropriately (&making flags and banners to support) is very encouraged! Each entry to the competition will include a special edition Hawth T-shirt in your child’s team colour.
What Will My Child Have To Do? - Recreational Children
Each child will perform one floor routine and 2 vaults (with their highest scoring vault counting) to a panel of judges.
The routines will be set based on the child’s age and will be based on skills worked in our classes.
There will be 6 things going on a once (with 6 panels of judges) so no child will feel like they are being watched on their own.
What Will My Child Have To Do? – TeamGym Development
This competition is a rare opportunity for gymnasts to compete as individuals. They will perform two tumble and two trampettes to be judged.
What Will My Child Have To Do? – MAG Development
The boys will show routines across all 6 pieces of apparatus (floor, pommel, rings, vault, pbar & high bar)
Will My Child Get To Practise?
From after May half term (starting Monday 2nd June) our recreational groups will be organised so that children doing the competition will work together.
They will have 6 weeks of practising their routines in preparation for the competition.
We will also be posting example routines online if gymnasts would like to do extra practise at home.
Can I Come And Watch?
Yes!
Due to limited space in the gym, we can only allow 2 spectators per gymnast.
The cost of 2 spectator tickets (£5 each) is included in the cost of entering the competition
Small children sitting on laps do not count towards the 2 spectators, neither do siblings who are also competing in the event.
What Time Will It Be?
Although the event will be taking place all day, each child will only need to be there for around 2-3hours.
When we have all the entries, we will publish a timetable.
If you have siblings of different ages, it is likely they will be at different timeslots.
My Child Would Like To Enter! Now What?
You can enter your child in to the competition using the button below.
Entry costs £32 – this includes two spectator tickets & a special edition Hawth t-shirt in your child’s team colour
ALL ENTRIES MUST BE IN BY SATURDAY 24TH MAY, WE WILL NOT TAKE ANY LATE ENTRIES
On Sunday 1st June all those who have entered will be sent an email with additional information – this will include your child’s team, the times they need to be at the event and the example routines for home practice.
